Job Description

I'm working with an entertainment client of ours here in Los Angeles in need of a Scrum Master to join their team. The ideal candidate will be Scrum Certified and have a strong background working in an Agile environment. This is a 6 month contract position in the Century City area.

The Scrum Master role helps scrum teams reach peak productivity by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, assisting the Product Owner with maintaining a healthy and actionable backlog, identifying and addressing and resolving roadblocks, tracking progress, and identifying and acting on opportunities for continuous improvement. The Scrum Master also plays a critical role in the adoption of Scrum and other agile development practices by the organization.

3+ years as a scrum master working in technology delivery Agile teams and an understanding of basic fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.
3+ years working in an IT environment.
Experience successfully delivering solutions on an aggressive schedule.
Hands on experience with agile methodologies.
Must be able to ensure that Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to and applied.
Hold a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
Experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team.
Experience working in a multi-team environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with other ServiceNow developers/SCRUM teams
Promote and demonstrate core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
Assist the team in tracking and communicating team progress and metrics
Facilitate and enable an environment of collaboration and creativity
Support and empower the team to make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
Empower the team to self-organize around achieving their commitments
Identify and remove any impediments/distractions that interfere with the team's ability to deliver against their commitments
Challenge and enable the team to continuously improve through intentional and data-driven inspect and adapt cycles (retrospectives)
Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices where appropriate
Ensure the team is tracking and communicating team progress and metrics to the appropriate resources
Coach and mentor others on Agile related topics
Lead multiple Agile teams and drive Agile transformation across the enterprise

Nice to have:
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a technology related field) or equivalent work experience
3+ years working in Project Management
First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
Experience standing up scrum teams and have been through an Agile Transformation from waterfall to agile
Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
High tolerance for ambiguity in rapidly changing client environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, client relation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Time management and Organization skills
ITIL v3 Foundation or higher
Scrum Master Certified
