Role Summary:The Staff Business Operations Engineer will be responsible for supporting IFS Military Application and related data & reporting needs to support the GE Aviations Military Systems Operation (MSO) business. IFS is an ERP system utilized by MSO to manage materials & warehouse operations for long term service agreements.
This role does not face with any classified Military programs or data, therefore US security clearance is not required.
Essential Responsibilities:
This role will manage the day to day operations of IFS application for the GE Aviations Military Systems Operation (MSO) business. Current IFS functionality includes material requirements planning, order processing, warehouse operations and depot operations. Role will be responsible to support IFS users, data & reporting needs for this critical pillar application in MSO Digital Products suite.
In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the Business Operations Leader and Digital Technology liaison for IFS application and its users.
  • Manage daily activities, issue resolution and communication across project execution teams. Own application monitoring and P&A reporting leveraging a consistent tool and approach across multiple applications.
  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary teams in resolution of high-profile outages/application incidents leveraging contingent worker support team, internal supporting organizations and Application Operations coworkers when appropriate.
  • Use disciplined approaches to monitor application platform and service progress via effective information dashboards for operational metrics, defect, quality, change control, and compliance.
  • Ensure conformance of established IT architecture, standards, and practices.
  • Support, advise, assist, guide and resolve problems for business leaders through standard ITIL processes (Help Desk).
  • Partner with various divisions of the organization, such as Product teams, Services and Development Programs, as well as other DT teams, to develop and support the programs that enable the Military spares processes.
  • Navigates through ambiguity, prioritizes conflicting asks and shows ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Creates a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation through continuous customer engagement to facilitate appropriate application upgrades and enhancements.
  • Support a growing Military Services business, both operationally and strategically.
  • Simplify and contemporize the technology portfolio, replacing Legacy solutions in accordance with the strategic product roadmap.
  • Prioritize needs according to the understanding and validation of customer needs and associated outcomes, down to the user story level.
  • Beyond driving day-to-day operational tempos and rigor, participates in the preparation of long-range systems plans and assure that they are in concert with business objectives and goals.
  • Enable process improvements within the business through the use of digital products and capabilities.
  • Reduce technical debt whenever and wherever possible.
  • Ensure operational excellence of product portfolio.
  • Stay current with market trends, enabling technologies and business digital strategy.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) OR High school Diploma with 5 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT, including at least 5 years providing functional support and managing operations of an enterprise ERP system in an Aviation or a Military business
    Eligibility Requirements:

Desired Characteristics:
  • IFS application knowledge in the following modules: Demand Forecasting, Supply Chain Planning, Inventory Replenishment, Sales Order, Shipment Management, Warehouse Management, IFS Supply Chain, Maintenance Planning, and Work Order.
  • Prior experience supporting IFS for an Aviation business or a Defense Contractor.
  • ITIL Service Management experience (ITIL Certification is a plus).
  • Working knowledge of abilities and application of ETL tools such as informatica and java, reporting tools such as Spotfire, operating systems such as windows and Unix, and databases such as Oracle that support the MSO spares contracts.
  • Proven leadership skill in both business process improvement and digital technology.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, global Matrix organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, effective interpersonal skills, and strong presentation abilities.
  • Ability to challenge status quo and advocate for digital transformation.
  • Proven analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Experience translating concepts and requirements into tangible business solutions.
  • Understanding of costs and program financials.
  • Experienced in change acceleration and change management.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Proficiency with various agile and collaboration tools like Rally, Aha, and Confluence.
  • Understanding of Military business processes and working with governments is a bonus, but not required.
  • Must be willing to work from any GE Aviation office locations in OH, MA or MI
